MCF is a home of a unique nature because of its reinvestment principle in all of its on-going and anticipated projects. MCF is implementing several sustainability projects to boost its income generation initiative to supplement donor support and sustain care and access to services by the increasing number of OVCs that need MCF Care and Protection. The ongoing projects include horticultural production through drip irrigation (MCF Ndalani and MCF Yatta) for export. The MCF farm has been accredited by the European Union and given Euro Gap and Global Gap Certification for its quality production of French beans for export.
Fish and poultry farming (MCF Yatta) for sale and domestic consumption as well as Livestock farming for meat, milk and organic manure for farming in being carried out. MCF Agricultural projects have been a training ground for both local and international farmers/college students as well as learning modules for MCF Secondary School students.
Vocational Training department produces quality school uniforms based on orders from various schools and or organizations hence providing an income to supplement the running costs of their training and upkeep.

The Construction department provides quality technical manpower from trainees needed in accomplishing construction projects and has in the past been contracted for various external projects including building a full primary school block in Kawangware – Nairobi.

Water harvesting is effectively being carried out at MCF Yatta through utilization of earth dams already constructed in its 300 acre farm, a strategy for rain water collection and drainage system envisaged to facilitate storage of over 240 million litres of water to buffer the institution from water shortages during drought and support all sustainability projects. MCF has not been spared by the severe drought in our country and all earth dams constructed before the drought condition worsened in anticipation of seasonal rainfall are still dry. However the water harvesting initiatives are strategies to ensure adequate water is harvested when the short torrential rains fall.
