MCF Ndalani and Yatta schools have completed term one and are on a two week break before resuming for term two. The term which was comprised of numerous events came to an end in mid April according to the MCF school calendar.
The children sat for the end of term one exam which lasted for one week before taking the break. The term had consisted of soccer games and athletics where MCF scooped most of the awards in all the competitions. MCF, after emerging champions in various games, was chosen to represent other schools at different levels up to the provincial level. MCF is highly proud of the teams whose efforts have yielded fruits. MCF strives to develop and nurture the different talents among the children through such activities like games and sports among others. These skills and talents have been well developed in the children and have seen them travel far and wide playing and performing songs, drama, acrobatics and karate.
The MCF karate team is the defending champion in East and Central Africa. The karate team, acrobatics team and mission choir travelled to the US and Canada late last year showcasing different performances.
MCF has not lagged behind in academics. The home scooped trophies in all the subjects during the Yatta Divisional Education Day in March which was held at a neighboring school.
The MCF homes have been quite instrumental in the provision of education to young and needy children. Since the early 2000 when the home witnessed its first KCSE candidates, each year a number of the beneficiaries qualify for university admission. Today, many of the beneficiaries have graduated from universities and institutions of higher learning and have become change agents and nation builders in different parts of the country and the globe in general.
The term was generally smooth with the children accessing all the basic needs and proper attention from the teachers.
