Good health and provision of quality medical care to the children and the community is core to MCF operations. Over the years, Mully Children’s Family has strived to provide proper medical attention to the children under her care and the neighboring communities. It is in light of this that a medical camp was held from 22nd, February to 2nd March, 2011 at MCF Yatta and Ndalani.
The medical group included medical practitioners; pharmacists, dentists, pediatricians and physicians from a partner church in Canada as well as the MCF medical team. Over 17 qualified medical practitioners attended to the children, staff and community during the week long camp.
The camp started in MCF Yatta before proceeding to MCF Ndalani where they attended to the children, child mothers, senior beneficiaries, farm workers, community members and MCF staff. The visiting group came along with donated drugs for various ailments as well as administered dewormers and vitamin A supplements to the children, not forgetting toothbrushes. The camp attended to over 2050 people.
The members of the visiting team also preached the Gospel of Christ Jesus and presented “The Jesus Film” as well as distributing Bibles to the children. They also gave motivational talks which greatly inspired the children in their academic work and in daily living.
The medical camp played a major role in ensuring the good health of the children, community members and MCF staff. MCF appreciates the services of the team from Canada and welcomes more visitors whose support is always appreciated.
