Vipingo is a rural slum area located in Kilifi district in Coast Province. Located along the coastline of Mombasa, Kenya, this day care centre rescues andrehabilitates orphans and other vulnerable children from the surrounding community who have been largely affected by child sex tourism. The centre offers a free nutritious diet every day to all the children while a formal education program ensures access to quality education for both the boy and girl child. Many of the girls who are now under rehabilitation at the Yatta Girls Center come from this area, and many of those left still suffer in abject poverty. MCF cannot take everyone in, but still felt the need to care for those who do not have even a meal a day. This center caters for Orphans, child laborers and any other children in need of special care and protection. It is situated 720 km from Nairobi city. MCF Vipingo caters for the needs of 234 boys and girls.
