About Mully Children's Family

Vocational Training

MCF has set up an integrated programme that seeks to address the needs and potentials of all targeted children. The Vocational department began as a non formal education initiative to absorb former street children, school drop outs and or child labourers who could not be integrated successfully in the formal primary or secondary school departments. Through many years of vocational training in and practice in Carpentry, Metal work and Masonry for boys, a fully fledged construction department has been institutionalized and provides full time employment to trainees in MCF projects and or contracted external projects.

A Vocational Training Centre for girls at MCF Yatta has also been set up offering various trades including; hairdressing and beauty therapy, tailoring and dressmaking, Home Economics, entrepreneurship, evangelism, computer courses as well as Carpentry, Metal work and Masonry for boys. An average of 40 young girls and 30 young boys graduate every year from MCF Vocational department and have penetrated the job market through gainful employment and growth of small business entrepreneurship.
