MCF has over the years strived to reach out to the neediest and less fortunate in Kenya through emergency relief responses in times of catastrophes such as severe famine and droughts regularly affecting many livelihoods particularly in MCF neighbourhoods - the Yatta district located in a semi arid region of Eastern Kenya. Currently MCF is involved in emergency relief project providing daily hot lunch to an average of 1000 community children in the Ndalani and Mavoloni area primary schools of Yatta district that has been worst hit by drought. The attending different primary school converge at MCF for lunch from Monday to Saturday. This is an initiative to save lives of children and keep the children in school. The project is also targeting most vulnerable adults in the locality.

MCF made a significant contribution in the emergency relief efforts during and after the catastrophic post election violence (PEV) in 2007/2008 and was based in Eldoret where the biggest Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp was based working alongside other relief agencies. Eldoret has a very special place in the Foundation and history of MCF Homes and from 1989 when Ev. Mulli founded the home at Eldoret, MCF Home Eldoret branch has remained as the main rescue centre for Orphaned and Vulnerable Children in the Rift Valley and Western provinces of Kenya. As such MCF had developed a long term acceptance within the region and was readily accepted as from January 2008 to be part of the most unprecedented relief effort ever undertaken in Kenya during and after post election violence.
MCF worked closely with IDP camp management Lead Agency at ASK showground Eldoret and was mandated to facilitate emergency intervention targeting lactating mothers and over 11,000 children initially in three main areas; relief food preparation and distribution, psychosocial support, and facilitating access to primary and secondary education in the camp school including purchase and distribution of educational materials. MCF facilitated payments of examination fees to Kenya National Examination Council for 224 KCPE 2008 and 40 KCSE candidates at ASK Showground Primary and Secondary school and later rescued 35 of the KCPE candidates to join MCF Secondary School in January 2009. 65 young girls and child mothers were also rescued and enrolled at MCF Yatta Vocational training centre.
