Besides emergency relief efforts carried out annually by MCF in its neighborhood and beyond, several community development initiatives are undertaken. Employment opportunities have been created for over 700 community members through MCF horticultural department and infrastructural development projects at MCF Yatta and MCF Ndalani. Through the MCF Medical Centers, community members access free medical services daily as well as through community medical camps with visiting doctors from Canada and USA as well as local doctors on quarterly basis. In June-July 2009 period over 4000 community members accessed medical services including, general diagnosis and treatment of common aliments(Malaria, typhoid,) dental care, eye treatment, HIV?AIDS testing and management as well as guidance and counseling.
