MCF Yatta

MCF Yatta provides residential care and rehabilitation to over 425 Vulnerable girls including street girls, child prostitutes, child laborers, child mothers with their babies, orphaned children, school drop outs, internally displaced children as well as the abused and abandoned children. It is 70km from Nairobi along Thika-Garissa Highway. The Home has an established Education department comprising of Baby class/Pre-school, primary and secondary school as well as Vocational Training Centre offering hairdressing and beauty therapy, tailoring and dressmaking, Home Economics, entrepreneurship, evangelism as well as computer courses. Emphasis is placed on personal development.

Young children in class at MCF YattaThe baby class and care centre takes care of the babies as child mothers attend school and or vocational training classes. The home has set up a medical centre providing medical care services to children and staff. Projects for water conservation particularly large earth dams have been constructed at MCF Yatta to support sustainability projects including fish farming, livestock farming and horticultural farming.  The dams also provide water for Climate Change Project at MCF which currently produces One million Tree Seedlings every year for reclamation of MCF   Yatta and Ndalani farms as well as for distribution to the community and partners in Mount Kenya region, coastal and Rift Valley region fro reforestation purposes
